Effective date: 2026-08-28 | Version: v2.2
Operator (the data controller under this policy): Luminate Pacific Consulting Service Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong. Contact: support@transless.net.
What changed in this version (v2.1 → v2.2): account sign-in has launched. We updated "What we process," "Third parties & cross-border transfers," and "Your rights" to reflect login credentials, regional signals, and every vendor now involved in processing. The way we actually handle your data has not changed.
Transless is a keyboard/input method that turns what you say into the language you picked. To do that, we process:
| Type | What it is | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Voice | The audio recorded while you hold the speak button | To recognize what you said |
| Text | The recognized text and the generated translation | To rewrite and translate it |
| Device identifier | A random ID generated the first time the app launches (a device token) | Abuse prevention, per-device free-quota accounting, and usage counting |
About that device ID: it is generated randomly by the app and does not contain your phone number, IMEI, advertising identifier, or any identity information from your phone โ we cannot use it to work out who you are. Its only purpose is letting our server tell that requests are coming from the same device. It stops meaning anything once you uninstall the app.
We do not collect: your name, government ID, location, contacts, photo library, advertising
identifiers, or system-level device identifiers (IMEI / Android ID / IDFA).
(The phone number or email used to sign in is covered separately under "Account information" below.)
Account sign-in is live. The core features work without signing in; signing in is only required for features that need to recognize you (for example, paid quota). Sign-in uses your phone number or email + a one-time code โ there is no password.
When you create an account, we record:
๐ We do not store your IP address, and we never send it to any third party โ the country
code (e.g. HK, CN) is looked up on our own server against an offline address
range table; your IP never leaves our server, and only those two letters are kept afterward.
We look at all four signals together because any single one can be misleading (a region setting can be changed manually, an IP can be masked by a VPN) โ cross-checking them gives us a reasonably accurate country breakdown.
๐ Phone-number sign-in uses Alibaba Cloud's phone-verification service โ the one-time code is generated and checked by Alibaba Cloud; we never see those 6 digits ourselves.
Not signing in does not affect the core features.A keyboard is technically able to read anything typed into any text field. Transless needs you to enable "Allow Full Access" in system settings in order to work online. So we're drawing the line explicitly:
1. Your voice is uploaded to our server, which forwards it to our speech-recognition
vendor. Our server never writes your voice or text to disk โ it is discarded as soon as it has
been processed.
(Usage logging is a separate matter โ it holds only a timestamp, which feature was used, and
a hashed identifier, and contains none of your content; see ยง10.)
2. The recognized text is sent to an AI model vendor (see ยง4) to be rewritten and translated.
3. The generated translation (and any synthesized speech from the read-aloud feature) sits briefly in our server's memory while your device retrieves it. The moment your device picks it up, we mark it for deletion and it is automatically wiped within 1 minute; if your device never picks it up at all (say, the connection drops), it is wiped after 3 minutes at the latest.
Why we hold it at all: we use a "submit the job, then poll for the result" pattern, because our gateway times out on long-running requests โ so the result has to sit somewhere until your device comes back for it. It only ever lives in memory; a server restart erases it, and it is never written to disk.
Why we keep it for 1 minute after pickup instead of deleting it immediately: if the result gets lost on the way back to you, your device will retry โ deleting it immediately would make it look like nothing came back after you spoke. That 1 minute exists for retries.
4. We do not build any history log, conversation archive, or user profile.
To perform recognition and translation, your voice and text are sent to the following vendors for processing:
| Vendor | What it processes | Server location |
|---|---|---|
| DeepSeek (Hangzhou DeepSeek) | Text rewriting and translation (primary processor) | Mainland China |
| Volcano Engine (ByteDance, Beijing) | Speech recognition; backup channel for text processing; storage of usage logs | Mainland China |
| Alibaba Cloud (phone verification service) | Issuing and checking one-time codes for phone sign-in | Mainland China |
| Resend | Delivering one-time codes for email sign-in | United States |
| Supabase | Storing account records (sign-in phone/email, the regional signals above) | Singapore |
Different kinds of data go to different places โ to be precise:
Each of these vendors' handling of data is governed by its own privacy policy.
Given the above, we recommend you avoid dictating:
We do not sell, rent, or use your content for advertising.
The app does not include any third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDK. Handwriting recognition runs entirely on your device and does not go online.
We ourselves never use your voice or text to train any model, and never use it for advertising, selling, or renting.
For third-party vendors, we're stating this honestly rather than glossing over it:
Why we include this section at all: we would rather be precise than make a commitment we cannot guarantee. We review this section periodically; last reviewed 2026-08-25.
These are things many similar products do that we deliberately do not do:
Translations are generated by AI and may contain errors or omissions. Please review them before sending. The app clearly marks this wherever a translation is shown.
As required by applicable law and by our vendors, we run automated checks for policy-violating content on both what you say and what is generated. This is programmatic keyword- and rule-based matching โ no human reads your content as part of this process.
We do not retain your voice or text content, so there is no content archive for us to let you query, export, or delete. Uninstalling the app stops all processing at any time.
You can delete your account yourself at any time on the Delete account page โ you only need to verify the phone number or email you signed in with. You may also ask us by contacting the email address below. Once we receive that request, we delete the account itself along with the information that directly identifies you (the sign-in phone number or email).
For usage accounting, abuse prevention, and service reliability, we retain a usage log that contains no content โ only a timestamp, which feature was used, and a salted, hashed identifier. Once your account is deleted, we can no longer link that log back to you.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing are: processing your voice and text is based on necessity for performing our contract with you (you asked us to translate it); processing the device identifier is based on our legitimate interest (preventing abuse, keeping the service running). The transfer to mainland China is based on necessity for performing the contract (GDPR Article 49(1)(b)).
If you are a California resident: we do not sell or "share" (as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA) your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

This app is not designed for and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. In the European Economic Area, this app is not directed at users under 16 (or the lower age set by your member state, where applicable). If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us at the email address above.
If this policy changes, we update the version and date at the top of this page.
